About the Journal

The Internetworking Indonesia Journal (IIJ) is a peer reviewed international journal devoted to the timely study of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Internet development. The journal seeks high-quality research papers on the challenges and opportunities presented by information technology and the Internet, as well as their impact to society.

Issues in the IIJ covers the broad areas of computing, communications, engineering (software & hardware), web3, digital assets and cryptocurrencies, decentralized social media and the broader area of Internet technologies.

Open Access Publication Policy

The Internetworking Indonesia Journal (IIJ) provides open access to all of its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. The journal allows readers to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of its articles and allow readers to use them for any other lawful purpose, under a Creative Commons License BY-NC-ND.

No fees

There are no subscription fees and no submission/publication fees. This is consistent with the open access philosophy adopted by the IIJ.

Indexing

The IIJ is currently indexed by SCOPUS and Google Scholar. The IIJ is also indexed by the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) database within the Web of Science Core Collection. The IIJ is included in the SCImago Journal and Country Ranking (SJR) and listed in the DOAJ.

Types of papers

Please review the descriptions below and identify the submission type best suited to your intended submission.

  • Research Paper: Research papers report on results emanating from research projects, both theoretical and practical in nature.
  • Short Research Paper: Short research papers provide an introduction to new developments or report on advances regarding on-going research work.
  • Policy Viewpoint: Policy Viewpoints explore competing perspectives in the policy debate that are informed by academic research.

Manuscript Submission Guidelines

The following are submission guidelines for the IIJ:

  • Format of paper: Papers must be submitted using the IIJ Template (MS-Word).
  • Paper length: Manuscript pages should not exceed 7 pages maximum of the IEEE 2-column format.
  • Paper never previously published in a journal: Manuscripts submitted to the IIJ must not have been previously published or committed to another publisher under a copyright transfer agreement, and must not be under consideration by another journal.
  • Conference papers must be revised: Papers previously published at conferences can be submitted to the IIJ, but must be revised so that it has significant differences from the conference version.
  • Avoid plagiarism: Authors must avoid copying text from papers by other authors. Legitimate quotation of a piece text must be accompanied by a reference to its source.
  • Avoid Generative AI tools: Authors are recommended to avoid automated text-generation tools based on Gen-AI technology.
  • No special volumes/issues: The IIJ no longer publishes special issues or volumes related to specific areas or to conferences.
